When ever I see shadows of trees on snow, I think of "Grandpa Bunny" from the Walt Disney books I had as a kid. Its in a collection of stories that I still have in a box set that is absolutely falling apart. Grandpa Bunny taught all the little bunnies (who painted Easter eggs) to paint the shadows on the snow and frost on the windows in the winter.
