weekend projects - part II

After I got all the frames together, I added this long forgotten fabric (found last week, during a stash cleaning) to five of the frames for wall art behind the couch.

I was trying to mimic the red stripe in our entry, without actually painting a red stripe. The squares are exactly the same height as the stripe and you can see them right away when you walk through the door. Total cost - seven dollars! And I still have some frames left over to play with!

Put another check on the simple goals list! Artwork behind the couch is taken care of!

outfit check

One of my simple goals was to put myself together each morning with real outfits. How am I doing? Well, now that the cool weather has kicked in, I'm doing great. I was trying with my summery clothes, but it seams so much easier with fall clothes. Must be the layering. And the boots. And the scarves.

Today I pulled together four things I wouldn't normally put together, but today, they totally worked.
Army green , gray, gold and rhinestones?

I don't have a pic of the whole outfit, but I did take this one of the scarf and button detail on the army green sweater.

Yesterday was a good outfit too. I heart fall.

simple goals

Elsie over at a beautiful mess has challenged bloggers everywhere to join her in setting simple goals. I'm not very good at setting goals - more of a fly by the seat of my pants gal, but I reading other peoples' has been a great motivator. So here are my four simple goals:

Dance - in my room, in my underwear, in the street, on the treadmill, in my chair, in my car.

Create with Abandon - lately I've felt a bit of creative block because I'm too tied up with what I should or shouldn't make, what might sell at my shop, what others are doing... To break out of this rut, I'm going to create things that I love. Things for my home and myself.

Dress Thoughtfully - yes I get dressed daily, but most of the time, it's just throwing on something easy. I'm going to mix up my wardrobe - pull out things I never wear and put together outfits complete with accessories.

Keep Updating - continuing the house project, I would like to finish out our main level in the next few months. This includes for sure: storage for dining room, artwork behind couch, more painting (stripe or no stripe?), couch cushion recovering, and lots of little pieces that need to come together.

So those are my simple goals for now. Thanks Elsie for the inspiration!
