yoga holder

I took a yoga class once. The best part of that class was the part at the end, when the yoga instructor would come around and shake out your feet to relieve lower-back tension. (Sounds weird when I write it down).

Another great part was the bag I made to hold my mat. Using canvas and a colorful cotton, I worked out a pattern to hold the mat and wound up with a pretty stylish accessory.

Now I'll share one with you. Leave a comment telling me your favorite yoga pose (mine is the deer pose - i think) and you can enter the chance to win this aqua, purple and orange accented yoga bag. I'll leave it open until Thursday at 12:00 and then announce both winners from today and yesterday that evening. (One extra entry if you follow my blog or or twitter). Good Luck.

If you're just joining us, be sure to check out my other give-away going on here.

  2. That bag is so pretty! I love when the instructors do that to my feet. Or when they pull the back of my neck.

My fav pose is a tie between tree and plow. Deer pose a relaxing stretch though :)

  3. This makes me want to do yoga!!! I have no favorite thing not having done it, but I have a mat and with a bag like this maybe I'd take it somewhere. :)

  4. My daughter seems to think the downward dog is the best :0 I have just begun to explore all of the different poses. I have MS and most seem to be relaxing, but also difficult with my numbness. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have a favorite one yet. I try to complete the series of poses together. Your bag is so cute, much better than carrying my mat with a giant rubber band around it! I looked to follow your blog with google, but didn't see it. kristy.ayers@gmail.com

  6. This might sound crazy, but I love downward dog (it took me awhile, but I got there). And I also really love savasana (especially when the instructor comes around and gives a little one on one attention. It is so relaxing!! I love this bag, thanks!

  7. child's pose! well, until i hurt my knee [playing soccer, not yoga]... crow pose is fun and challenging :)
your bag is super nifty...and the foot shake thing is amazing! i had a teacher a long time ago that did that with feet, arms, AND she'd pick up your head and pull it to stretch your spine...heaven!

  9. What a lovely prize...thanks so much for the chance to win it!

I adore most poses in yoga, so it's hard to choose: pigeon pose really helps my hips feel good, but I also adore triangle for making me feel long and lean(which I'm not, really!)

  12. i'll admit it -- i'm lazy. which means the child's pose is my favorite! my yoga mat is most often used for meditating -- which while not necessarily helpful to my muscles and joints, sure is good for the head.

  14. Dead bug! Or child's pose. My yoga-ing is on the wimpy side... but I dig it!

  15. Mine is good ol' downward facing dog because it is so opposite of all of my daily movements that it feels GREAT every time. Well, I also like all the twists for the same reason. :)

  20. I use my mat when I do pilates--one day I'll feel flexible enough for real yoga (I pretend with really good stretching). Very cute mat bag!

  21. Nothing like Child's Pose to release the lower back pressure and make me want to drift off to yoga-ga-ga land at the end of a session!

  22. I have no idea what it's called, but I love doing figure 8s with my hips. I don't know if it's part of regular yoga or just prenatal yoga, but it always helps with my lower back pain.
