My mom and aunt grew up sewing their own clothes. I've inherited my total disregard for patterns from them. Well - we all learned from the same source - my Grandma, so this is a deep-set habit. They used to go into the fancy store in town, check out the dresses and then go home to sew them.I borrowed this technique the other day while shopping. Saw a funny scarf-like wrap made out of cotton at a store, but instead of buying, I thought, "I could make this." Sunday I found some old cotton pajama pants, ripped them up and voila - funny scarf-like wrap. Cozy.
I'm not so sure about the fall feeling anymore - Its still pretty hot tonight, crickets are chirping and those "tiny-chain saw" cicadas are revving their engines. Scarves will have to wait.
