I took Friday off and drove up north for a weekend of family and friends. As I drove, the green disappeared from the trees, the trees fell to the ground (as a result of ice storms, vandalism and road construction), the brilliant blue Lake Superior shimmered, and I was home.
It was a lovely weekend, despite the snowbanks above us on the golf course and the chilly snowflakes in the air on Saturday.
