Just recently, after trying to give her female relatives all of her collectible depression glass with little success, my grandma determined that I would be the person to carry on her love of "real antiques". (My aunt chronicled the event here). I was not in attendance for this sorting, but I did receive stacks of magazines aimed at cottage living, shabby chic, and collectibles from her collection.

I have started my own collections since then, but they are not of the shabby chic or depression glass variety. Most of my interests lie in the mid-century modern category. Not necessarily the furniture or the kitsch, but there are a few things that have caught my eye. Like these:
