borrowed

My mom and aunt grew up sewing their own clothes. I've inherited my total disregard for patterns from them. Well - we all learned from the same source - my Grandma, so this is a deep-set habit. They used to go into the fancy store in town, check out the dresses and then go home to sew them.

I borrowed this technique the other day while shopping. Saw a funny scarf-like wrap made out of cotton at a store, but instead of buying, I thought, "I could make this." Sunday I found some old cotton pajama pants, ripped them up and voila - funny scarf-like wrap. Cozy.

I'm not so sure about the fall feeling anymore - Its still pretty hot tonight, crickets are chirping and those "tiny-chain saw" cicadas are revving their engines. Scarves will have to wait.
